At age 17, he was accused of more than 50,000 cybercrimes.
The 25-year-old Finn has been charged with extortion by the once popular, and now bankrupt online psychotherapeutic company and its patients. Finnish authorities rarely name the suspects during the investigation, but they were ready to make an exception for Alexander Kivimyaki ( he is Zeekill ), a famous hacker, who at the age of 17 was accused of more than 50,000 cybercrimes, among which were theft of bank cards, prosecution using telecommunications and various data leaks. For all this, he was punished softly enough – only two years in prison conditionally.
At the end of October 2026, Kivimyaki was charged with ( according to the Finnish authorities, he was also arrested in absentia, as he was abroad ) in an attempt to extort money from the Vastaamo psychotherapy center. October 21, 2020 Vastaamo became the goal of blackmail when an attacker under the nickname "ransom_man" demanded to pay 40 bitcoins ( ~ 450,000 euros at that time ) in exchange for the promise not to publish confidential records of therapeutic sessions.
In reports published on one Finnish-language site in Darkwebe, ransom_man said Vastaamo did not want to negotiate ransom payments, because of which he will start publishing 100 patient data sets every 24 hours so that the company wants to continue communicating with him.
But when the company refused to pay, ransom_man began extorting money from individual patients. According to the Finnish police, about 22,000 victims reported extortion attempts against them in person. For each victim, the attacker demanded 500 euros.
On October 23, 2020, ransom_man uploaded a large archive containing therapeutic records of all Vastaamo patients to darkweb. But the archive also contained a copy of the ransom_man home folder, which helped investigators find a number of evidence that points to Kivimyaki. And let the attacker quickly delete the ( archive by marking “ oops ” ), several users managed to download it.
Among these lucky ones was Antti Kurittu, Team Leader at Nixu Corporation and former forensic scientist. In 2013, Kurittu worked on other crimes that Kivimyaki committed as part of the Hack the Planet. According to him, such a mistake on the part of the hacker – is a huge failure in the field of operational security. In that folder, experts found a lot of useful information and databases.
According to Kuritt, all the people who investigated the crimes of Kivimyaki say that Vastaamo also has a notorious cybercriminal for extorting money.
In turn, Kivimyaki denies all allegations on Twitter and believes that the Finnish authorities made this matter public in order to influence the decision on his old affairs.
